B/R: Abandoned, newly born baby rescued (photos)

A newly born baby has been rescued by some residents at Badu, a suburb in the Tain District of the Bono region, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

This was after the baby was dumped by the mother.

The baby was kept in a black sack with blood stains over the body.

An eyewitness during an interview on Solar FM’s Morning Show dubbed Atumpan‘ on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, told the host, Odiasempa Kofi Boadi, that he heard the crying of a baby on Tuesday morning behind his house.

He said the baby was discovered in a sack after he came out of his house to ascertain what was happening.

According to him, the attention of the Assembly member in the area was drawn to the incident after the discovery.

Together with the Assembly member and himself, the incident was reported to the police.

Subsequently, Nanaba said, the baby was rescued and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Information gathered by BoadiNews.com indicates that the mother of the victim has been nabbed while the baby has been handed over to the Department of Social Welfare in the district.

The rationale behind the mother of the baby, identified as Felicia Derry, remains unknown.
