B/R: Woman, 29, set on fire survives (Contact)

A 29-year-old woman called Christiana Chiraa is battling for her life at Nsuatre in the Bono region.

This was after the victim was inflicted with cutlass wounds and subsequently set ablaze by four women.

The caretaker of the victim, Mrs. Rebecca Ofori, said in an interview with Odiasempa Kofi Boadi on Solar FM’s Morning Show dubbed ATUMPAN that the attack on the victim was borne out of a cassava.

Narrating the incident, Mrs. Ofori said that the victim, a farmer, confronted one Vida Saberya about uprooting her cassava and demanded a payment from her.

According to her, a misunderstanding ensued between the duo, which led to Vida inflicting cutlass wounds on the victim.

Mrs. Ofori added that the suspect, realizing injury wasn’t enough, together with other women, poured a flammable substance believed to be petrol on the victim and set her ablaze.

The victim had suffered burns on almost half of her body and was receiving treatment at the Kumasi Children Hospital.

Mrs. Ofori appealed to the general public for financial assistance.

Meanwhile, the incident, according to information gathered by BoadiNews.com, was reported to the Nsuatre Police Command but has been transferred to the Dormaa Police Command for an investigation.

No arrest has been made.
