Two injured as fire gut ICGC Church, School at Dunkwa

Two security personnel have been hospitalized at Dunkwa Government Hospital after being injured.

The personnel, one from the fire service and the other from the immigration service, were injured in the process of dousing a fire that gutted the entire building of the International Central Gospel Church at Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central region.

The fire outbreak incident, which occurred on Monday evening around 8:00 p.m., didn’t spare the school building belonging to the church.

Both the church and the school were on the same premises.

It took three hours for the fire to be brought under control by the Fire Service and the other security agencies.

In an interview with, the Municipal Fire Service Commander, DO3  Fredrick Gyimah, highlighted the importance of fire extinguishers and therefore advised the public on the need to have one at home and at work.

As Christmas festivity is approaching, the fire service boss called on Ghanaians to be mindful of fire.
